Search Volume Checker

How the Search Volume Checker Works

Paste in your keywords, one per line, then pick a country and a currency. For each keyword we return the average monthly searches, the Google Ads cost per click, the advertiser competition score, and a 12 month trend.

The data comes from Google Keyword Planner, which is the same source most paid SEO tools rely on.

Country matters more than people expect. A keyword can get a hundred times more searches in one market than another. Currency determines how CPC is reported. Pick both before you submit.

Smaller lists return in seconds. Larger lists queue and run in the background with a progress bar, so you can leave the page and come back.

Reading Your Results

Search Volume is Google's average monthly searches for that keyword in the country you picked, averaged across the trailing 12 months. That averaging matters: a seasonal keyword shows its yearly average rather than its peak month.

CPC is what advertisers pay per click in Google Ads. Above five dollars usually signals strong buying intent. An empty or zero CPC means nobody is bidding, which often points to an informational rather than commercial query.

Competition is Google's 0 to 1 score for how many advertisers bid on the term. It's a good proxy for commercial competition. It is not the same thing as organic ranking difficulty, although the two tend to travel together.

Trend is a small chart of the last 12 months, scaled to fit its box rather than drawn to absolute volume. Click it for exact monthly values.

Common Questions

Is 10,000 searches a month a lot?

Depends entirely on the niche. For a local service term like plumber in Bellingham, 10,000 would be enormous. For a broad category like running shoes, 10,000 is mid range and the same term can pass 100,000 in some markets. As a rough scale: under 100 a month is long tail, 100 to 1,000 is mid tail, 1,000 to 10,000 is a head term, and above 10,000 is a short competitive head term. Higher volume almost always means more competition.

Why does volume change by country?

Because demand does. Cricket in India gets roughly a hundred times the searches it gets in the US. Football means two completely different sports depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on. Language matters too. A Spanish keyword can show strong volume in Mexico, Spain, and the US while showing almost none in Australia. Always check the market you're actually targeting.

What should I make of the trend chart?

Three things. Seasonality, since gift keywords spike in November and swimsuit terms peak in spring. Decline, where a falling line warns the topic is shrinking. And one off news spikes that inflated the average and won't repeat.

Why is the volume different from what another tool told me?

Different tools use different indexes and different refresh schedules. Ours pulls from Google Keyword Planner directly. Use one source consistently rather than trying to reconcile several.
